Only dispute what is wrong: a debt that is not yours, a wrong balance, the same debt listed twice, or an item older than 7 years. The bureau generally has 30 days to investigate.
03If a bureau or creditor won't fix an error
You can file a free complaint with the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau.
